Wooden Painted Cow

These charming hand-painted wooden cows come from Rajasthan and were produced around 30 years ago. Rich in character and folk tradition, each figure is carved from solid wood and decorated in vibrant colours, reflecting the enduring artistic heritage of the region.

Their expressive forms are brought to life with carefully painted details, from the stylised eyes and curved horns to the ornamental patterned saddles across their backs. Hues of warm orange, earthy brown, soft green and sky blue are layered and aged, now softened by time into a beautifully worn patina. The gentle distressing and natural wear only enhance their authenticity, giving each piece a unique, timeworn appeal.
